Dividend Information
Currency
Dividends are declared in US Dollars but the default currency for the dividend will depend on whether the shareholder has a Nigerian Certificate for Capital Importation ("CCI") and is determined as follows:
- Shareholders holding their shares on the Nigerian Stock Exchange and do not hold a valid CCI will be paid their dividend in Naira;
- Shareholders holding their shares on the Nigerian Stock Exchange with a valid CCI will be paid their dividend in US dollars as the default currency. However, those shareholders may instead elect to receive their entire dividend payment in Naira (partial elections are not permissible).

A: Yes, there is an established mechanism that provides for shares to be transferred and held on either the NSE or LSE. However, there are certain criteria that must be met in order to do this, the main one being the existence of a CCI (Certificate of Capital Importation) in addition to holding accounts in both CSCS and CREST. Please contact your broker to seek advice on this process and the various criteria.
Q: How do I buy shares in Seplat Energy
