Skill and experience

Ibi-Ada currently serves as the Managing Director of SEPLAT Onshore (Operations) having joined the company in 2013. In SEPLAT she has worked in both operational and functional roles, most recently as Managing Director, Seplat East Onshore Ltd, Asset Manager West, Chief Reservoir Engineer SEPLAT and General Manager Subsurface. Prior to joining SEPLAT she worked for SHELL Nigeria in both Onshore and Deepwater reservoir engineering roles.

A technical professional with experience in both operations and studies, she has led technical and integrated teams in areas such as field development planning, definition and execution, Asset business and strategy planning (including budget and performance), annual reserves certifications, subsurface assurance processes and supply chain process optimization. In addition, she has frequently served as technical lead for acquisition evaluations. Her interest in home-grown innovation and cost optimization saw her leading two successful in-house innovations leveraging technology and young in-house talent to develop automated solutions for contracting processes.

She holds a BEng in Chemical Engineering from the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria and MSc in Process Technology from the University of Twente in the Netherlands and an MSc in Sustainable Business from the University of Leeds with over 20years of oil and gas industry experience. She has published 5 SPE technical papers in subjects such as experimental design, field development planning and water disposal.

She is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), a member of the Association of Professional Women Engineers (APWEN), a registered practicing engineer under the Council for Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE).
