Seplat Energy PLC, Nigeria’s leading independent energy company, along with its Joint Venture (“JV”) partner NNPCL has achieved another significant milestone in its commitment towards boosting Nigeria’s domestic energy security and sustainability, by successfully completing the first domestic supply of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) – Butane from the Bonny River Terminal (BRT) in Rivers State, Nigeria.

Our CEO, Roger Brown, has reiterated the critical role of indigenous oil and gas companies towards achieving Nigeria’s energy security. Speaking at a Panel Session themed, “Pioneering the Future of Energy in Africa” as part of the 50th Anniversary of the Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE), he noted that, indigenous companies have a much greater responsibility beyond drilling and exporting oil and gas.

The commissioning ceremony, which was held May 15, 2024, in Ohaji, Imo State, brought together key stakeholders in the industry.
